Campus Texting Policies
The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ) uses text messages to share information about student communications, campus services, events, and promotions with individuals who choose to participate in covered Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ text-messaging programs.
Covered Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ text-messaging programs are designed to help participants stay informed while maintaining control over the messages they choose to receive. Additional information about participation requirements, messaging practices, privacy protections, and available options is provided in the SMS Terms of Service and SMS Privacy Policy.
Why Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Sends Text Messages
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ may send text messages to help individuals stay informed about:
- Student communications
- Campus services
- Events
- Promotions
Depending on your relationship with Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and the programs you choose to hear from, messages may include information about admissions, enrollment, registration, financial aid, student success resources, deadlines, campus events, service updates, cancellations, closures, and related outreach.
Who This Applies To
These policies apply to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ text-messaging programs that reference the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ SMS Terms of Service and SMS Privacy Policy during the sign-up process.
Recipients may include:
- Prospective students
- Applicants
- Current students
- Individuals registering for or expressing interest in Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ programs, services, or events
- Other individuals who choose to receive text messages through a Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ consent process that references these policies
How Participation Works
Participation is voluntary.
You may choose to receive text messages by completing an affirmative opt-in process, such as:
- Admissions applications
- Request for Information (RFI) forms
- Event registration forms
- Other Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ sign-up processes that reference these policies
Providing a mobile phone number by itself does not automatically enroll you in text messaging. Participation requires a separate affirmative action indicating that you wish to receive covered text messages.
Consent to receive covered text messages is not required to apply to, enroll at, participate in, or receive services from Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ.
How Often Will I Receive Messages?
Message frequency may vary.
The number and type of messages you receive may depend on your relationship with Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, your interests, the programs or services you use, and the consent you have provided.
Will It Cost Me Anything?
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ does not charge a separate fee to participate in covered text-messaging programs.
Message and data rates may apply based on your wireless carrier's plan.
How Do I Stop Text Messages?
Reply STOP to a message to opt out of messages from the associated Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ messaging program or sender.
STOP requests apply to the messaging program or sender associated with the message you received.
What These Policies Cover
These policies apply only to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ text-messaging programs that reference the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ SMS Terms of Service and SMS Privacy Policy during the consent process.
These policies do not govern emergency-notification systems or emergency communications.
